Rod Allen said right after Curtis Granderson had a bad swing to strike out against Bobby Jenks, “They just can’t beat these White Sox.” Unfortunately this has been true for a lot of the season, and while the White Sox have been struggling. I know that even though they are a last place team, they [...]

The win today was nice, and Jeremy Bonderman finally had the quality start we were waiting for. He finally got out of the first inning without allowing a run and only allowed 1 run on 6 hits. Bonderman also struck out 3 and walked no one to get his 11th win of the year.
I am [...]

Well here we are 133 games into the season with a 71-62 record. The Tigers are now 4 1/2 games back of the Tribe. If the Tigers would have had this record by this time in 2004 with the same position in the standings, we would have loved it. The problem is [...]

This was a good series against the Yankees. It was nice to get 3 out of 4 including this offensive extravaganza tonight to get a 16-0 win! Sean Casey got his first triple since 2004. It was great to have a fun night like this at the ballpark, and I was glad to be there [...]

It seemed like Justin Verlander was going to have a commanding outing tonight until the fourth inning. Things even looked good during part of that inning, but then with two outs and Franklin Gutierrez on second base, Asdrubal Cabrera, Kenny Lofton, Casey Blake, and Grady Sizemore all singled to give the Tribe a 4-3 lead. Most [...]

I commented today with our master of this website, Michael McClary, that for this series I would have been satisfied with a split. Today’s loss looked like an easy win for the Yankees, who got 2 quality innings from Edwar Ramirez to close out the Tigers in dominant fashion. The Tigers just could not overcome the Yankees’ [...]

The Tigers did what they had to and got the first win against New York in the Bronx. It should give them a feeling of confidence tomorrow. Carlos Guillen hitting the grand slam in the first set the tone, and they never relinquished the lead. Despite what happened in the 9th, it [...]

Tonight was a battle of Chads. Chad Durbin and Chad Gaudin. Each one came into tonight’s game with an ERA over 4.00, and neither with any recent good outings. The A’s scored 6 runs off Durbin in 4 1/3 innings, although 2 of those were helped by Jason Grilli who again for [...]

Justin Verlander gave the Tigers a quality start through six innings, and the bullpen players did the rest. That is what we have missed and enjoyed last night. It was nice not having to worry too much through those last innings, and the Yankees helped out by crushing the Indians 11-2, getting the [...]

The night of August 10, 2007 will be known at Comerica Park as when three different games were happening. At one point the A’s were leading the Tigers 8-1, and it looked like the A’s were on their way to a rout of a team struggling to find its competitive niche. By the [...]
