Of the three known commodities, the only one that hurts is Martinez - but with "Mr. Nick" coming, I think Martinez was just used exactly as he should have been. No since in having a blue chip 3rd baseman stuck at AAA for 15 years, is there? If the 4th guy is a minor league catcher, or a pitcher not named Drew Smyly, this trade is a slam dunk winner. If it is Smyly, then, yeah, it hurts, but that's why starting pitching is a premium. Getting Fister's ERA (let's not talk about his W-L) into the 5th spot is huge. The Tigers are 7 games above .500 even with the 5th starter's spot being 12 games under .500. Think about that for a minute. 5th spot plugged; help for the bullpen; Jacob Turner still a Tiger; Nick Castellanos still a Tiger.... What's not to like? This trade is awesome.
