• 1981 — The Tigers acquired infielder Ron Jackson from the Twins for OF Tim Corcoran.

• 1978 — Ron LeFlore steals his 27th consecutive base as Detroit beats the Twins 7-3. He began the streak on July 16.

• 1915 — In the second inning of game one of a doubleheader versus Detroit, the crowd sees the Senators score a run with no times at bat, the only time it’s ever happened.
