- 1927 — The Philadelphia A’s Ty Cobb makes his 4,000th hit, a double off the Tigers’ Sam Gibson. Detroit wins 5-3 over Lefty Grove.
- 1906 — Ty Cobb, suffering stomach cramps, leaves the Tigers and returns to Detroit. He will undergo an operation for ulcers, and be out of the lineup until September.

Kinda starting to look a little bit like a second half choke again for the Kitties. It would be nice if they would get some pitching, which they haven’t had in quite awhile. pitching is what takes you to Championships. The good thing about this years choke is that we won’t have to wait until the last game of the year for it to happen. GOTTA GET THE PITCHING!!!!!
