- 1991 — Mickey Tettleton becomes the 17th player to ever hit a ball out of Tiger Stadium as the Tigers lose to the Angels 10-3.
- 1987 — The Tigers acquired RHP Karl Best from the Mariners for RHP Bryan Kelly.
- 1983 — The Tigers acquired RHP Doug Bair from the Cardinals for a player to be named (LHP Dave Rucker).
- 1912 — Ty Cobb gets pinch hit for in an unusual scenario. With two outs in the 9th, and the Tigers down 11-3, Cobb is nowhere to be found, and George Mullin substitutes and flies out to end the game. It turns out Cobb is in the clubhouse showering.
- 1909 — The Tigers organization buys the rest of the vacant Bennett Field grounds as the site for a new park.
