The Robertson trade makes no sense now at all now. If they were going to end up releasing Dontrelle (and I could see in spring training they were going to need to), what purpose did that serve? It would be pretty nice to have a staff with JV, Porcello, Scherzer, Bondo, Robertson... that's the kind of pitching that took them to the series in 06. Hopefully Galaragga can get it together. Just kills me to have given away a solid workhorse lefty finally on the mend.

What I don't get is why they are going to go with Galarraga when his best start wasn't as good as Willis has been this year and his worst start was worse.

The fact remains that Willis did not cost the Tigers any game yet this year, say what you want but every starter on the team has given up more that 4 runs in a start this year with the exception of Dontrelle.

Why stick it out with Todd Jones and Fernando Rodney in a much more vital role for so many years and not Willis?

Remember Nate Colbert? Superman with a giant bat in 1972 acquired in a "big" trade from the Padres in 1974. Turned out to be Lois Lane with a toothpick in Detroit. Worse than Rob Deer.
