- 2003 – The Tigers win for the first time this season, getting a three-run homer from Shane Halter to beat the White Sox, 4-3. The 1-9 Tigers are the only team since 1900 to start back-to-back seasons with nine straight losses. They started 0-11 in 2002. In case you’ve forgotten, the Tigers would win only 42 more times that season.
