Two for Tuesday: Angels Tidbits

Number2.jpgWhen I was a kid, I loved when the Tigers played on the West Coast — particularly in the Spring because it was fun falling asleep while listening to Ernie and Paul. Plus, it meant the end of the school year wasn’t far off.

Now I get to watch the Tigers on the West Coast but at normal (for me) game times: 7:05 p.m. PT. But enough about me, here are two things you need to know as the Tigers head into this three-game series against the Angels:

  1. Jered Weaver was scratched from his Sept. 5 start at Chicago and a Sept. 9 assignment vs. New York due to lacerations of the finger tips on the middle and ring fingers of right hand. So? So, the injury occurred when Weaver’s fingers were cut by staples on the underside of the Angel’s dugout bench at Comerica Park.

  2. The last Angels position player to pitch in a game was Chili Davis; it happened on June 17, 1993 vs. Texas. He pitched two innings and hit one batter.

And now you know.

There is nothing better than the Tigers on the left coast. Of course Dan Dickerson and Jim Price are no Ernie and Paul. I believe I’ll be opting for the Angels’ feed via XM for my pre-slumber baseball fix this evening.

I like Dan Dickerson. He’s a good announcer. Obviously, he’s no Ernie. But who is? Price annoys me, though. He’s a little too schticky

I like Dickerson too. He’s solid. Price is awful.
