Very disappointing reaction by Nate. Seems out of character, and hopefully just spoken out of frustration. If he wants that rotation spot, he needs to earn it, and once he gate past his stubbornness, maybe he'll realize it.

Dear Nate,
You want to be a starter, renegotiate your deal and we'll happily trade you to the first team that offers us a bag of balls and a new fungo (note gratuitous blog plug!).

Signed,
The Tigers Front Office

I think the same. I liked Nate, I was pulling for him-but not now. Those comments were a slap in the face to the organization and the fans. He is already giving up and calling it an end.I dont blame him for being angry but you don't just say you're career with Detroit is over because you're a reliever, that was a bonehead move. Those comments are worse than Sheffield's remarks on the DH situation.I hope Leyland tears him a new one.He obviously doesnt want to be a Tiger anymore. He could have said he didn't like his new role but he's going to do all he can to prove he's a starter-but he acted like a cry-baby instead. He is going to get booed a lot in Detroit, they could have let Rapada in and sent Nate packin. Nate needs to shut his mouth. If he wants to start-he has to EARN it, thats common sense. I have lost all respect for Nate, I hope the Tiger's cut his playing time, especially before they release him just to show him who's boss. Even if Nate does well, the fans will still hate him-Tiger fans will never stick up for him ever again
