Birthday Double Dip

What do Franklin “Cadillac” Stubbs and John “Flash” Flaherty have in common? Not only were they both on the forgettable 1995 Tigers but they share a birthday today.
The now 47-year-old Stubbs hit a robust .250 with two homers and 19 RBI. He played 20 games at first, 20 games in left field and another three as DH. Though he couldn’t swipe a single stolen base (he was thrown out in his only attempt), he managed to wear two different uniform numbers that year: 19 and 39. He spent the last two seasons as a coach for the Double-A Mississippi Braves of the Southern League. The Atlanta affiliate won the Southern League Championship this year.
Flaherty, who turns 41 today, hit .243 with 11 homers and 40 RBI. He appeared in 112 games, all at catcher. In 2007 he joined YES Network’s coverage of Yankees baseball as a reporter and analyst.
Happy Birthday, gentlemen.

Wow, I had forgotten that Stubbs played here. Of course, there’s a lot about those mid-1990s teams (and the early 00s) that I’ve been trying to forget.
