		<description>Chances are decent most of the team was placed on waivers. It&#039;s common practice to try and place just about everyone on waivers. If they clear, then you can trade them; if there&#039;s a claim, you simply pull them back (no harm, no foul).

As for Sheff: Didn&#039;t we all state about a year and a half ago there was no way he&#039;d finish his three years here? This was to be expected. His history says he does this and, lo and behold, he did it again. The bad guy in all of this is Dave Dombrowski for giving him the two-year extension. One year certainly looks much more palatable now; especially since the Tigers will likely need to ship a bucket load of cash with him whereever he goes to complete the trade. (See Adam Dunn to the D&#039;Backs.)</description>
