Yep, five pages of negative comments about Detroit's former Golden Boy and Josh Wallin's former "Face of Detroit Sports" will certainly go a long way toward sending a message.

Perhaps the best comment in the Freep today was from the fan who suggested he buyout his contract from the team and shop his wares on the open market. That's precisely what I was thinking this morning as I drank my snifter of Inge Whine Vintage '08 with my oatmeal.

If you genuinely don't want to be on this team, void your contract with the Tigers. I'm sure Mr. D, Mr. I, and the skipper would all just as soon see the malcontent move on down the highway and save a little money in the process.

Trading him right now is out of the question. First, teams just spent the past four months getting the players, they wanted; second, he's on the wrong side of 30 with a lifetime .235 average; and third, he's exhibiting an "it's all about me" personality that won't sit well in too many clubhouses.

If nothing else, we have some self-inflicted drama to supplant the bullpen questions for the time being.
