We Knew The Yankees Were Good

I commented today with our master of this website, Michael McClary, that for this series I would have been satisfied with a split. Today’s loss looked like an easy win for the Yankees, who got 2 quality innings from Edwar Ramirez to close out the Tigers in dominant fashion. The Tigers just could not overcome the Yankees’ superior pitching for most of the weekend.
It was nice to see Cameron Maybin’s first two major league hits on Saturday, including his first home run, off Roger Clemens. Maybin was born nearly three years after Clemens made his major league debut. It was also disappointing to see Maybin’s mistakes in the field. I believe he will get better with time.
I find it fortunate that the Tigers only have one more series with the Bronx bombers this season.

Well, the Yankees sure showed us how to play if you want to make the playoffs. The Tigers have been lucky to be holding on in this race. Thanks to the faltering Indians.
I wish I could light a fire under them boys. Who do we have to loose next before they wake up??
