Harwell still swinging for the seats

The Detroit News’ Fred Girard had an excellent story today about Ernie Harwell and attorney S. Gary Spicer have already managed to cobble together $300,000 in commitments for postponing the razing of Tiger Stadium.
Harwell and Spicer have an elaborate plan that involves maintaining a scaled down version of the Stadium, museums (music and sports), and condos. They are to meet with Wall Street financiers in the next week about the bulk of the funding they’d need — which might include a Lambeau Field stock option sort of thing. (Yes, I’ll buy at least one share.)
It’s an interesting read if nothing else; and the photos from inside the Stadium show a much more attractive park than I recall seeing from other photos.
