Great Robertson
By Mike McClary in Fungoes | 4 comments
Three observations about tonight’s 1-0 win over the Twins:
- Nate Robertson was superb tonight. I think we need to see another solid outing from him before we deem his tired arm fully rested.
- Macay McBride pitched more like Bake McBride. A leadoff walk is never a good approach.
- The home plate umpire was wildy inconsistent with his balls and strikes tonight.
Three questions about the game:
- Is there a more annoying pitcher right now — on another team, that is — than Pat Neshek?
- I ask this not to be cute: Am I the only one who fully expects Todd Jones to blow every lead he’s given?
- Why is it when I watch the Twins I still expect to see Dan Gladden and his mop of hair playing left field?

Actually, I kind of like Neshek and his funky delivery. I enjoy seeing some guys who make you go, “What IS that?” (Though I could be biased because his ERA and WHIP are helping a couple of my fantasy teams.)
And when I watch the Twins, I always expect that GIANT FAN to be behind home plate, but apparently the Metrodome has gotten rid of that. Or maybe they just covered it with a Best Buy ad.

I always expect Jones to blow EVERY lead as well.
