Weekend Leftovers, Neifi Style

In case you missed it, as I did, Saturday was Neifi Perez‘s 34th birthday.
With the release of Jose Mesa, thus ends the tenure of the first player named "Mesa" to see action for the Tigers.
Did you know that Neifi is the first Perez to play for the Tigers at the major league level? Timo Perez is likely to be stuck in Toledo for the duration so Neifi can keep his stranglehold on the distinction.
One final Neifi Note: When you see him stride to the plate with that hefty .171 average do you find yourself wondering, as I did on Sunday, how Ramon Santiago is performing at Toledo? I looked it up. As of Saturday he was hitting 60 points higher than Neifi.
I don’t know about you, but after the four games in Cleveland I need a day off too.
