The Not Ready for Prime Time Players?

The Tigers’ national television appearances have been less-than-impressive to date (losing 16-4 to Minnesota two weeks hence while splitting a pair of FOX games). As I write this it’s the top of the ninth and anything is possible, but falling behind 4-0 before you even come to bat is no way to go about winning the AL Central.

Still, a gritty, gutty performance by Mike Maroth tonight. The pitching staff needed those eight innings eaten up.

This team has faced many injuries to the pitching staff, and the bats (excluding Inge and Casey) have only come alive in the last month. That’s ridiculous! Does anyone else think that this team may actually be better than last years? In the very least they’re learning to play through adversity… beginnings of a dynasty?
