A double-dip of frustration

All I could think about was: “How are the Tigers making Julian Tavarez look like Cy Young?”
Granted, I never saw old Denton True pitch but you get the idea.
One measly run off Tavarez, who seems to go from bullpen to waiver wire to rotation depending on the team he’s playing for.
One run. Unacceptable, man!
But how about that Zach Miner? On zero-days’ notice the guy comes to Boston and pitches at least as well as Mike Maroth woulda — perhaps better. And what a line:
5.1 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO.
All the Tigers could do was muster one tally against — stop me if you’ve heard this — Julian Tavarez.
In game two, Chad Durbin once again walked the tightrope of allowing too many base runners. Look at his line (and compare it to Miner’s):
5.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 5 BB, 4 SO.
Take away Durbin’s free passes and the similarities are eerie. Like the one that spells “d-o-u-b-l-e-h-e-a-d-e-r s-w-e-e-p.”
As much as I’d rather see Miner in the rotation over Durbin, I will most certainly give props to Durbin for fanning Manny Ramirez thrice. That was fun to watch.
The real story of the day was the number of men left on base. In game one, six LOB. In the nightcap, 11. Usually Craig Monroe can strand 11 by his own self in a typical three-game series.
And what the hell to make of Wilfredo Ledezma?
Jeez, this is a wildly scatterbrained post. Apologies.
I’m hoping the Tigers get back on track this weekend at the expense of the Cardinals.
Is a sweep too much to ask for?

In regards to Durbin.
1. I can take credit for being the one guy in the Rogers Center(re? Damn French) for screaming “You suck Durbin!” before he was pulled back on April 14 in Toronto. Without me reminding Chad of his place in the pecking order, he wouldn’t have taken a step in the right direction.
2. I can admit I was wrong in my reaction to send the kid back to Toledo after the garbage that was his first 3 starts.
I’m a big enough man… I was wrong. Welcome to the club Chad, you’re this year’s Zach Miner.
In regards to Zach Miner.
I said earlier in the year that I felt Zach should be part of a 6 man rotation later in the season. Needless to say I was ripped for it. Am I still wrong?!?

Josh, you’re never wrong. Others just have differing viewpoints.
A six-man rotation is a distinct possibility later this year, but it might well include Miller, Durbin, and Rogers before it includes Miner.
Zach’s best shot at this club is the new Jason Grilli. Clearly he enjoyed one too many autograph shows with his old man this off season.
