More bad news

Vance Wilson was placed on the 15-day DL with nerve trouble in his right elbow. The discomfort has made it difficult to throw and bat. He’s not due to come off the DL until April 14.

Mike Rabelo, the switch-hitting 27-year-old with one career big-league at bat was recalled. He went 2-for-14 this spring. He split time between AA Erie and AAA Toledo last season.

Wilson was quoted on today’s Tigers’ radio broadcast as saying he hopes simply resting his arm will improve his condition but he hasn’t experienced anything quite like this before.
