What Did I Miss?!

It was 3-0 Phillies the last time I checked.

Final score? Tigers 12, Phils 9.

I guess that’s the magic that occurs when Neifi Perez goes yard.

**Update: My bad. It was Timo Perez that homered. See what happens when you have two Perezes in camp?

So Jim Leyland is quoted in this morning’s paper as saying the final bench position is a battle between Neifi Perez, Ramon Santiago, and Chris Shelton.

How can Perez even be part of this debate?

Doug, I bet it’s all about which side Neifi swings the bat from. Leyland wants a leftie bat off the bench. Even if it’s Neifi’s.

Yeah, but it’s Neifi Perez … not Ted Williams.

Cut Neifi, trade Shelton for some prospect, and stick with Santiago. He won’t hurt you and you know what you’re getting with him.

There, I’ve said my peace on this matter.
