[...] (And some wonder if Bernie Williams could be a Tiger, but I’m apt to agree with MLB.com Tigers beat writer Jason Beck that he won’t. Then again, who knows with the silent way Dave Dombrowski operates). [...]

In the <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/10/sports/baseball/10yanks.html?ex=1328763600&en=f7cf4301bd808001&ei=5090&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss" rel="nofollow">NY Times</a>, Williams made it sound like he wasn't interested in playing for anyone else besides the Yankees. He may have already turned down guaranteed offers from other teams, too.

Good points. Eric. I'm just hung up on the lack of experienced left-handed bats on this current roster.

I'm still holding out hope for Todd Helton.

I don't think he's really interested in going elsewhere or it wouldn't have come this far with the Yankees. I'm sure he's known this was coming for some time.

I think the Tigers are fine in centerfield anyway. Assuming Granderson stays healthy he will just take most of the load again this year and Clevlen is likely to make some appearances as well to back him up later in the season.

I don't think it would be a bad move to have Bernie here but I don't think he's really needed.
