Miller Ranked #5 Pitching Prospect

In the February 12 issue of Baseball America, executive editor Jim Callis ranks the top 25 of what he considers “the game’s more-established pitching prospects.” The Tigers’ Andrew Miller is ranked number-five by Callis behind by Tim Lincecum (Giants), Homer Bailey (Reds), Phillip Hughes (Yankees), and number-one, Daisuke Matsuzaka (Red Sox).

Another noteworthy name on the list appears at number-21: former Tigers’ prized prospect Humberto Sanchez. Given how highly regarded Sanchez appeared to be around the 2006 trade deadline, I’m surprised to see him down so far on the list.
