Juan Gone and Back Again?!

Not sure why I read this story, probably because there’s still something intriguing about Juan Gonzalez. Anyway, check out this little nugget buried deep in this story:

According to published reports in Puerto Rico, the Angels, Tigers and Orioles have all expressed interest in signing the former two-time American League Most Valuable Player.

Surely they jest.

    I can only think of three reasons Juan Gonzalez and the Tigers might somehow be interested in each other:

    1) Juan read about all that money he would’ve been making with Detroit if he’d signed Mike Ilitch’s ridiculous contract, and is hoping he can still get some o’ dat cheddar.

    2) Juan thought he was “the other” Juan Gonzalez included in the Carlos Guillen deal. So if Ramon Santiago can come back to Detroit, why not Juan?

    3) Juan has learned to hit left-handed, thus intriguing the Tigers.
